Any similar breeds to Sheltie collies? (10pts awarded asap!)?

I love everything about Sheltie collies, the size, the temperament, the looks. Everything. But they are really uncommon in my area, in shelters and breeders.

Are there any dogs similar to the Sheltie (in size and temperament)? Standard Collies are uncommon here as well. Please don’t recommend an Australian Shepherd, we are aware of those 🙂

Has anyone here had experience with AKITA dogs?

My mum and I are considering this breed of dog.

We have a cat – would the dog ( if we got it as a puppy ) learn to tolerate them?

And how hard would it be to train this type of dog? We have time but not LOADS of time, you know?

Exercise would not be a problem – we’d be able to exercise it lots. Also, would it be able to be left alone for maybe an hour at a time and not bark or rip the place apart?

Is training hard? Please don’t give me webistes, but actual experience.

Rough Collie questions?

After hours of research my brother has decided he would like a rough collie. I have researched them but would like to double check on a few things
1. How much exercise do they need daily? (we can provide whatever needed, have a large yard and want to do agility and flyball)
2. They need no pro grooming right?
3. Are they good with small children?
4. Are they eager to please and trainable?
5. When socialised from an early age with cats are they good with them?

My dog is going crazy wanting to bite herself?

The vet said she is allergic to fleas so I have her on confortis she has dug bad before but nothing like this I have had a cone on her for two days when I press her skin it bleeds its driving her crazy! Is it just heeling or worse?

How do I fix my dogs ears I don’t know whats wrong?

We took him to the vet and they gave us cream and antibiotics and they didnt seam to help. We cant afford to take him to the vet at this time. We tried alot of over the counter earmite stuff but nothing seems to work. Sometimes hes in so much pain he cant sit still i try to clean his ears with q-tips black scab like stuff comes out. Can anybody help me!
